Greetings!
I currently serve as the vice chancellor of NYU Shanghai, as chancellor of the Peking University School of Transnational Law, as an independent director of Infosys Ltd., and as a member of the advisory board to the Nazareth Academic Institute. I have previously served as a Supreme Court law clerk, a practicing tax lawyer, a professor of law and public policy, dean of the University of Michigan Law School, president of Cornell University, a senior scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and chair of the board of Internet2.
During my career, I have been given the opportunity to write and speak about a broad range of issues that animate life in the twenty-first century.
I firmly believe that education, technology, and the rule of law are all vital forces in the development of a world where people from different cultural backgrounds join their talents to improve the human condition.
This website affords me a way to collect my ideas in one place and share them with you.
I appreciate your interest and welcome you to contact me if you would like to respond to anything you see here.
